Job Description: INHOUSE LEGAL EXECUTIVE

Position: Experienced Lawyer

Location: Bhawanipur, Kolkata

Experience: Minimum 5 years In a Corporate Office as a INHOUSE LEGAL EXECUTIVE

Role Overview

You will be responsible for managing all real estate and property related legal matters, including litigation, documentation, registrations and advisory across the Groups property portfolio.

You will work closely with internal teams and external counsel to ensure compliance, protect company interests, and resolve disputes efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the company in court cases, litigation, and dispute resolution concerning real estate or property matters.
  • Conduct land searches, due diligence of titles, ensure clear ownership and check encumbrances.
  • Handle property registration processes liaising with registry offices, preparing and filing necessary paperwork.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize legal documents such as sale deeds, lease agreements, power of attorneys, agreements for joint development etc.
  • Advise on property laws, land acquisition, zoning, building permissions etc.
  • Support internal stakeholders (e.g. real estate, operations, finance) on legal risk assessment and compliance.
  • Keep up to date with relevant legislation, regulations & judicial decisions; ensure corporate legal compliance in property matters.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Law degree from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in real estate/property law, litigation, documentation, registration etc.
  • Strong knowledge of property laws, registration act, land acquisition, zoning laws etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in court practice and litigation handling.
  • Excellent drafting, reviewing and negotiating skills.
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines.
