Job Description: Area Manager - POSP Channel

Location - Kolkata

Position Overview: The Sales Manager for the POSP (Point of Sales Person) Channel is responsible for managing, developing, and optimizing the POSP sales network to drive the growth of the company products and services. This position requires a dynamic individual who can lead, motivate, and support a team of POSPs, ensuring they achieve sales targets while maintaining excellent customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Strategy Development:

Develop and implement sales strategies for POSPs to achieve targets and overall business goals.

Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth in the POSP channel.

  1. Team Management:

Recruit, train, and mentor POSPs to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform effectively.

Set clear performance expectations and regularly monitor individual and team performance.

Provide coaching and support to improve sales productivity and customer service.

  1. Sales Targets & Performance:

Establish and manage sales targets for POSPs and monitor their performance against set objectives.

Take proactive steps to address any gaps in performance and ensure targets are met or exceeded.

  1. Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with POSPs, ensuring they are engaged and motivated.

Regularly communicate with POSPs to understand their challenges, offer solutions, and ensure their needs are being met.

  1. Product Knowledge & Training:

Ensure that POSPs are well-trained on product features, benefits, and selling points.

Provide continuous product and sales training to the POSP team to enhance their sales effectiveness.

  1. Reporting & Analysis:

Prepare and submit regular sales reports, analyzing key performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.

Provide feedback to senior management on the performance of POSPs and channel effectiveness.

  1. Market Penetration & Customer Acquisition:

Identify new business opportunities and prospects to grow the customer base.

Work closely with the marketing team to ensure POSPs have the right materials to drive sales.

  1. Compliance & Ethics:

Ensure that POSPs comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sales practices.

Address any issues related to compliance and ensure all sales activities are conducted with integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of sales experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role, particularly in channel sales or POSP networks.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing a sales team effectively.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to formulate effective strategies.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and sales software.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position.
  • Travel may be required to meet with POSPs and visit client sites.
