Role & responsibilities

  • Audit and verify reported damages of finished goods in the sales and distribution cycle (including warehouses, distributors, retailers, and in-transit).
  • Track damage trends across regions, SKUs, distributors, and transport partners.
  • Investigate root causes of product damages (e.g., poor handling, packaging defects, loading/unloading issues, shelf-life expiry, temperature abuse).
  • Coordinate with the sales, warehouse, quality assurance, and logistics teams to review damaged inventory and approve write-offs or claims.
  • Ensure damaged goods are documented in the system (SAP, Oracle, etc.) in compliance with company policy and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with finance and internal audit teams to reconcile damage claims with distributor debit notes and sales returns.
  • Generate periodic reports and dashboards on damage levels, cost impact, and process gaps.
  • Monitor adherence to damage control SOPs by internal teams and third-party partners (e.g., transporters, distributors).
  • Provide feedback to packaging and supply chain teams on product fragility or packing efficiency.
  • Recommend and help implement improvements to reduce damage frequency and associated costs.
