Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled L1 Support Engineer with hands-on experience in HPE ProLiant or Dell PowerEdge server environments. The ideal candidate must have strong foundational knowledge of server hardware, RAID configurations, firmware updates, and remote management tools such as iLO (HPE) or iDRAC (Dell). This role is 100% onsite and requires the ability to perform L1-level troubleshooting, routine maintenance, monitoring, and coordination with vendors for issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Server Monitoring & Administration
Perform L1 administration tasks across compute/server infrastructure.
Monitor servers, applications, hardware health, RAID status, power/thermal status, and associated alerts.
Identify abnormal behaviors and ensure proactive monitoring of system performance.
Incident Management & Troubleshooting
Troubleshoot server-related issues (hardware, OS-level alerts, RAID, firmware, boot failures, logs).
Log and track tickets; escalate issues to HPE/Dell Support as needed.
Coordinate with vendor support teams for diagnosis, spare part replacements, or onsite visits.
Ensure adherence to SLA timelines for all assigned incidents and tasks.
Configuration, Updates & Maintenance
Assist in server configuration activities, including RAID setup, BIOS settings, hardware validation, and health checks.
Perform or support firmware upgrades in collaboration with the HPE/Dell team.
Support scheduled preventive maintenance activities, documentation, and audit readiness.
Operational Support & Collaboration
Work closely with internal teams, project teams, and external vendors for smooth operations.
Participate in projects or deployment activities when assigned (rack/stack, installation, testing, validation, etc.)
Prepare status reports, update documentation, and maintain proper logs of tasks performed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
1–2 years of hands-on experience with HPE ProLiant or Dell PowerEdge servers (L1 level).
Basic knowledge of:
Server hardware components
RAID configurations (creation, monitoring, troubleshooting)
Firmware and driver updates
iLO / iDRAC / remote console tools
Experience monitoring server health, logs, and alerts.
Ability to perform L1 troubleshooting and coordinate with vendor support.
Understanding of incident and ticketing workflows.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work onsite in Bangalore full-time.
Preferred Skills (Good to Have)
Experience in enterprise datacenter environments.
Exposure to HPE tools such as HPE Smart Storage Administrator (SSA), HPE SPP, iLO Advanced, or Dell equivalents such as OpenManage.
Basic knowledge of networking and OS concepts (Windows/Linux).
