The Sourcing & Production Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing vendor relationships while ensuring efficient production and timely delivery of high-quality homeware products (furniture, mirrors, lighting, furnishing, kitchenware, tableware and décor). This role requires strong negotiation, technical production knowledge, and operational excellence to balance design integrity, cost efficiency, and timely execution.

Key Responsibilities

Sourcing & Vendor Management


• Identify, onboard, and vet new vendors and artisan partners across furniture, lighting, mirrors, and accessories.


• Negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and quality standards with vendors.


• Build a vendor rating and audit system (quality, timeliness, reliability).


• Develop long-term vendor relationships aligned with brand's design and quality ethos.


• Track market trends in materials, finishes, and production techniques to source innovative options.

Production Management


• Oversee end-to-end production process for custom and catalogue products.


• Translate design drawings/specifications into clear production briefs for vendors.


• Monitor progress across multiple vendor workshops to ensure adherence to timelines and specifications.


• Conduct periodic production QC checks (initial, midline, final).


• Resolve production bottlenecks or technical challenges quickly.

Quality & Compliance


• Implement and maintain quality control systems across all SKUs.


• Ensure products meet brand standards in finishing, durability, and safety.


• Develop product compliance documentation (materials, sustainability, provenance).


• Manage returns/reworks in case of defective or rejected products.

Cost & Process Optimization


• Control production costs through efficient sourcing and vendor negotiations.


• Track production budgets, wastage, and yield to improve margins.


• Implement structured production calendars and milestone tracking.


• Digitize vendor and production records for better monitoring and forecasting.

Cross-Functional Collaboration


• Work with Design & Product Development team to evaluate feasibility of new designs.


• Align with Styling & Sales teams for custom client orders and B2B projects.


• Partner with Operations & Logistics to ensure seamless dispatch and delivery.


• Support Marketing with production timelines for new launches.

Requirements


• Bachelor's degree in Design, Production, Supply Chain, or related fields.


• 5–8 years of experience in sourcing/production management in furniture, interiors, or lifestyle industry.


• Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.


• In-depth knowledge of materials (wood, metal, glass, fabrics) and finishing techniques.


• Ability to read technical drawings and translate into production specs.


• Proficiency in project management tools and Excel/ERP systems.


• Strong problem-solving and crisis management skills.


• Excellent communication and people management skills.
