Alankrit, with 30 years of heritage, is dedicated to reviving India's oldest craft, 'Chikankari,' and uplifting craftsmen. With a presence in forty different villages around Lucknow, the company employs approximately 5000 workers. We reach even the remotest villages, supporting local artisans and promoting traditional craftsmanship.

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate
Production Manager
to oversee operations in our Chikankari workshop. This role requires a deep understanding of traditional hand embroidery techniques, artisan management, and production workflows. The ideal candidate will ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products while preserving the authenticity and craftsmanship of Chikankari.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning & Coordination
  • Develop and manage production schedules based on order volumes and deadlines.
  • Allocate tasks to artisans and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.
  • Quality Control
  • Implement and maintain quality standards specific to Chikankari embroidery.
  • Conduct regular inspections and provide feedback to artisans.
  • Team Management
  • Supervise and support a team of karigars (artisans), supervisors, and helpers.
  • Resolve conflicts and ensure a positive working environment.
  • Inventory & Resource Management
  • Manage raw materials, threads, fabrics, and tools inventory.
  • Coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment.
  • Client & Vendor Coordination
  • Liaise with designers, clients, and vendors to align production with expectations.
  • Provide updates on order status and address any concerns.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain records of production output, artisan performance, and quality checks.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports for management review.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in textile or handicraft production management (preferably Chikankari or similar hand embroidery).
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines efficiently.
  • Familiarity with traditional embroidery techniques and artisan workflows.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory and production software is a plus.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Passion for preserving traditional crafts.
  • Ability to communicate in local languages (e.g., Hindi, English)
  • Experience working with artisan communities.
