Deputy Manager

Purpose/Objective

Executive - Structural Design (CSD) is responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and durability of structures.

This position involves leading and overseeing the structural design process for individual projects.

It is responsible for coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to create innovative and efficient designs that adhere to industry standards and regulations.

Additionally, this role includes conducting structural analyses, reviewing design documentation, and ensuring quality control throughout the design and construction phases.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Assisting in Structural Design and Analysis: Support senior engineers in the design and analysis of CSD structures by preparing design calculations, analyzing loads and stresses, and developing detailed drawings using CAD software.

Attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines to ensure that all aspects of the design are integrated effectively.

Assist in conducting feasibility studies and site investigations to inform design decisions, ensuring that all designs account for site-specific conditions and requirements.

Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure the quality and compliance of structural designs with local, national, and international building codes by conducting thorough reviews and quality checks of design documents, calculations, and specifications to identify any discrepancies or areas that do not meet required standards.

Stay updated on changes to relevant codes and regulations and incorporate them into design practices by establishing a culture of quality within the design team.

Conducting Site Investigations and Assessments: Conduct site investigations and assessments to gather data necessary for structural design by evaluating soil conditions, existing structures, and environmental factors that may impact the design.

Understand geotechnical principles and be able to interpret data to inform design decisions by collaborating with geotechnical engineers and environmental specialists to ensure that all site conditions are adequately assessed.

Preparation of Design Documentation: Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including technical specifications, drawings, and reports to ensure that contractors have clear and precise instructions to follow.

Collaboration with other team members to compile project documentation and ensure consistency in design representation.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Plays a vital role in engaging and communicating with various stakeholders including senior management, contractors and other stakeholders.

Gather feedback from stakeholders on structural designs and ensure necessary revisions are made to meet project expectations.

Documentation and Reporting: Assist in creating and organizing design documentation, including drawings, calculations, and structural analyses to support the overall design process.

Maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with industry standards and facilitate efficient project workflows.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.

Work Experience: 6-8 years of experience in structural design and engineering, preferably within the aviation or transportation sectors.
