Job Description – Junior Accountant

Position: Junior Accountant

Department: Accounts

Location: Sitapura, Jaipur

Reporting to: Finance Manager

Role Overview

The Junior Accountant will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in statutory compliance, and ensuring timely completion of accounting tasks. The role requires attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and basic knowledge of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Accounting Tasks

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions (sales, purchases, expenses, payments, receipts).
  • Maintain and update accounting entries in Tally/ERP software.
  • Prepare and maintain vouchers (payment, receipt, journal entries).

2. Bank & Cash Management

  • Assist in bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain cash book and petty cash records.
  • Prepare bank deposit slips and track payments.

3. GST & TDS Compliance

  • Assist in GST data preparation for monthly/quarterly returns.
  • Ensure proper documentation for input tax credit.
  • Support TDS calculations, challan preparation, and return filing.

4. Vendor & Customer Accounting

  • Verify bills, invoices, and supporting documents.
  • Assist in preparing vendor payments and customer follow-ups.
  • Maintain accounts payable and receivable reports.

5. Inventory & Asset Records

  • Coordinate with the stores team for stock verification.
  • Update inventory entries in the system (if applicable).
  • Maintain asset register and documentation.

6. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare basic MIS reports as required.
  • Maintain proper filing and document control for audits.
  • Support internal and external audits with required data.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • B. Com / M. Com / or related degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with Tally ERP / Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table preferred).
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work with accuracy and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work in a team with a positive attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Experience

  • 0–2 years of experience in Accounting/Finance.
