Job Summary

Bennett University is seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Information Technology to lead the strategic planning, development, and management of the Universitys IT ecosystem. This senior leadership role requires not only deep expertise in IT infrastructure, security, networking, and data center operations but also proven experience in application development, particularly in building and managing ERP, LMS, and other higher education–focused applications.

The ideal candidate will come from either a higher education background or the application development industry, with hands-on experience in designing and implementing technology solutions tailored for universities and academic institutions.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and drive the University's IT vision and strategy, aligned with academic and administrative priorities.
  • Partner with senior leadership to leverage technology for institutional growth and student success.

Application Development & Digital Transformation

  • Lead end-to-end design, development, and deployment of ERP, LMS, and education-focused applications.
  • Collaborate with academic and administrative stakeholders to identify technology needs and translate them into innovative solutions.
  • Ensure delivery of scalable, secure, and user-friendly applications that enhance teaching, learning, and administration.

IT Infrastructure & Networking

  • Oversee design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure (servers, networks, hardware, and software).
  • Ensure scalability, availability, and performance of campus-wide wired and wireless networks.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement robust IT security frameworks to safeguard university data and systems.
  • Monitor emerging cybersecurity threats and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

Data Center & Business Continuity

  • Manage data center operations, including backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Ensure uninterrupted IT services through proactive monitoring and contingency planning.

Team & Resource Management

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing IT team with a culture of innovation and accountability.
  • Manage budgets, vendor relations, and IT procurement effectively.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Proven leadership experience in IT, ideally in higher education or application development for universities/edtech sector.
  • Strong expertise in ERP, LMS, or custom application development projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, security, and data center operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong project management and vendor management experience.
