eCommerce Project Manager

Job Description

The eCommerce Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating client projects within the book printing, publishing, and fulfillment industry. This role ensures that all client onboarding, production workflows, and order fulfillment projects are executed efficiently and delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The Project Manager will work closely with clients who operate online bookstores, subscription boxes, authors, publishers, and eCommerce brands that rely on print-on-demand or bulk book production services.

This position involves managing the full project lifecycle—from initial requirements and file preparations to production scheduling, inventory coordination, and fulfillment setup. The successful candidate will be the main liaison between clients and internal departments such as production, prepress, warehouse, procurement, and shipping.

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of experience in project management, preferably in the printing, publishing, manufacturing, or fulfillment sectors. Familiarity with Bills of Materials (BOM), SKU setup, print specifications, production workflows, and order management systems is highly preferred. The role requires strong organizational skills, sound judgment, excellent communication, and the ability to coordinate multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate internal teams (prepress, print production, warehouse, shipping) and external vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Support clients in setting up SKUs, BOMs, product specifications, and fulfillment requirements for book production.
• Ensure all projects—such as book launches, reprints, bulk orders, and subscription box runs—are delivered on schedule and within budget.
• Develop detailed project plans and production schedules, monitoring progress at every stage.
• Manage changes in project scope, timelines, and costs, ensuring accuracy and feasibility.
• Maintain strong communication with clients, providing updates, clarifications, and support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare project reports and escalate critical issues to management when needed.
• Oversee risk management processes to identify and mitigate production or fulfillment risks.
• Maintain relationships with third-party vendors such as paper suppliers, printers, or packaging partners.
• Create, update, and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
• Track project performance to ensure both short-term milestones and long-term goals are met.
• Handle financial aspects such as budget tracking, cost adjustments, and approval of production-related expenses.
• Prepare and manage Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, Work Orders, and Invoices.
• Continuously develop leadership capabilities and mentor junior team members.
• Attend training, workshops, or conferences related to printing, eCommerce, or supply chain.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Proven project management experience, preferably in book printing, publishing, manufacturing, eCommerce, or fulfillment operations.
• Experience with Xero, Manu Online, or similar ERP/order management systems is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of Bills of Materials (BOM) and production workflows.
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Exceptional organizational skills with careful attention to detail and strong multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple moving parts in a production environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30, ₹40,000.00 per month
