Plant IT Head

Role Overview:

The Plant IT Head will be the technology leader for the manufacturing facility, responsible for defining and executing the digital and IT strategy for plant operations. This role will ensure seamless integration of IT systems with manufacturing processes, enabling Industry 4.0 adoption, cybersecurity, and operational resilience.

The incumbent will partner with plant leadership and corporate IT to deliver smart factory solutions, MES/SCADA systems, and IT infrastructure governance, while driving digital transformation and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

IT & Digital Strategy for Plant

• Define and implement the plant IT roadmap aligned with corporate digital strategy and manufacturing objectives.
• Drive Industry 4.0 initiatives, including IoT, predictive analytics, and digital twins for operational excellence.
• Ensure integration of MES, ERP, and automation systems for end-to-end visibility.

IT Infrastructure & Cybersecurity Governance

• Oversee plant IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and end-user systems.
• Implement robust cybersecurity frameworks for OT (Operational Technology) and IT environments.
• Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery plans for critical systems.

Smart Manufacturing Enablement

• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations to deploy MES, SCADA, and PLC connectivity solutions.
• Enable real-time data capture and analytics for OEE, quality, and predictive maintenance.
• Support digital traceability and compliance systems for regulatory and quality requirements.

Vendor & Project Management

• Manage IT vendors, system integrators, and technology partners for timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Govern IT project execution, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Leadership & Capability Building

• Build and lead a plant IT team with expertise in infrastructure, MES, and cybersecurity.
• Drive digital literacy and adoption programs for plant workforce.

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with corporate IT policies, data privacy norms, and statutory requirements.
• Provide regular dashboards and analytics to CDIO and Plant Head for decision-making.

Qualifications & Experience:

• B.E./B.Tech in IT, Computer Science, or Electronics; MBA preferred.
• 15-17 years of experience in IT leadership roles in manufacturing, with exposure to MES, ERP, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, and OT-IT integration.
• Proven track record in greenfield plant IT setup and digital transformation.
