Job Description – Procurement Officer (Ethanol Plant)

Position Summary:

Procurement Officer
at Raavi Group will assist in sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating the supply of materials and services required for smooth and efficient operations of the ethanol plant. The role supports senior procurement staff in vendor management, documentation, and cost-effective purchasing while ensuring adherence to company policies and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Material Procurement & Coordination

  • Assist in sourcing raw materials, consumables, spare parts, and plant-related items.
  • Obtain quotations from suppliers, prepare comparative statements, and recommend options based on price, quality, and delivery.
  • Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Coordinate with the stores and production departments for daily material requirements.

2. Vendor Management

  • Support in developing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and service providers.
  • Help evaluate vendor performance on quality, delivery, and pricing.
  • Maintain updated vendor records and supplier databases.

3. Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare and process purchase orders, goods receipt notes, and other procurement documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records in ERP or manual systems as per company procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Raavi Group's procurement policies and quality standards.

4. Cost Control & Reporting

  • Support the team in achieving cost-effective procurement and minimizing wastage.
  • Assist in preparing monthly purchase summaries and cost reports.
  • Track material price trends and update management on key market movements.

5. Coordination & Communication

  • Liaise with Accounts for invoice verification and payment follow-up.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Commerce / Engineering / Supply Chain / or related field.
  • Additional certification in Materials Management or Procurement is an advantage.

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in an ethanol plant, distillery, sugar, or chemical industry.

Technical Skills:

  • Basic understanding of ethanol plant operations and raw material requirements.
  • Knowledge of ERP or procurement software.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good organizational and follow-up abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Team-oriented and proactive approach.
