Job Description – Senior Manager, Human Resources

Position Overview As the Senior Manager – Human Resources at Universo Realtors, you will lead the recruitment function end-to-end, focusing on attracting, hiring and onboarding outstanding talent aligned with our business growth. In addition, you will support payroll and HR operations to ensure employees are effectively managed and supported.
Key Responsibilities 1. Talent Acquisition (Primary – ~70%)
● Lead and manage full lifecycle recruitment including workforce planning, sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection and onboarding for roles across functions in the organisation.
● Partner with hiring managers and business leaders to forecast hiring needs, build recruitment strategies and execute them to meet business objectives.
● Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines for critical and recurring roles.
● Manage job postings, candidate databases and relationships with job portals, agencies, external consultants and vendor partners.
● Measure, analyse and report recruitment metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, quality-of-hire) and suggest continuous improvements.
● Drive and enhance employer branding and candidate experience initiatives, making Universo Realtors an employer of choice in the Thane/Mumbai region.
● Ensure diversity, equity and inclusion considerations are embedded in recruitment processes. 2. Payroll &
HR Operations (Secondary – ~30%)
● Making the monthly payroll process in coordination with the Vice President and/or external payroll vendor, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with local/regional statutory requirements.
● Maintain and update employee records in Spine HRMS, ensure data integrity and assist in reports generation.
● Respond to employee queries regarding payroll, compensation, benefits, attendance and related matters. ● Assist in implementation and communication of HR policies, procedures and employee-engagement initiatives aligned with the company culture.
● Stay updated on relevant labour laws, regulations and payroll compliance requirements for the Maharashtra region, and partner with legal/finance teams as needed. Qualifications & Experience
● Bachelor's / Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
● 5-6 years of HR experience with a strong focus in recruitment and working exposure to payroll and HR operations.
● Proven experience recruiting for mid to senior level roles across diverse functions.
● Hands-on experience with recruitment platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Naukri, Monster) and ATS/HRMS tools.
● Working knowledge of payroll systems and process flows (deductions, statutory compliance, reconciliation).
● Familiarity with labour laws and compliance in Maharashtra preferred. Skills & Competencies
● Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal communication skills – able to partner effectively with business leaders and HR team.
● Strong organisational skills, with ability to manage multiple hiring projects and HR operations tasks concurrently.
● Analytical mindset – ability to interpret recruitment and HR data, derive insights and implement improvements.
● High level of integrity, confidentiality and attention to detail.
● Energetic and proactive, with ability to work in a fast-paced environment and drive results. Key

● Quality of hire (e.g., retention of new hires after 12 months).
● Recruitment stakeholder satisfaction (hiring managers, candidates).
● Payroll accuracy (zero errors), timeliness of payroll processing.
● Compliance with HR and payroll policies/regulations.
