About Bark India

Bark India is the largest operation of Bark outside the UK with more than 50 staff members. Bark India started operations in December 2022 and currently manages Marketing and Sales functions for India, South Africa and Singapore. In addition, there is also customer support team that provides support to India and Global operations.

About the role

As the Commercial Finance Analyst at Bark, you will play a central role in shaping how we understand and drive business performance. You will be responsible for building and maintaining financial models, reporting that underpins trading decisions, delivering insightful KPI reporting, and supporting stakeholders with forward looking analysis to identify trends, risks and opportunities. Your work will directly support senior leadership and influence decision-making across our UK, US, and global markets.

This is a varied and high-impact role, so we are looking for someone with strong analytical ability, excellent financial modelling skills, and the curiosity to dive deep into data to uncover the "why" behind the numbers. You'll also play a key role in streamlining and automating reporting processes, alongside assisting in the implementation of new finance systems that will transform how we operate.

Responsibilities

Financial Modelling, Forecasting & Analysis

  • Build and maintain financial models for trading analysis, scenario planning, and commercial initiatives
  • Utilise BI tools (Tableau, SQL) alongside models to deliver detailed commercial analysis and actionable insights
  • Support the rolling forecast and annual budgeting processes, ensuring accuracy of assumptions and alignment with business priorities
  • Perform variance analysis to explain performance versus forecast, and prior periods, highlighting key drivers, risks, and opportunities
  • Work with commercial and operational teams to understand strategies, provide financial insight, and challenge

Business Partnering & Decision Support

  • Act as a trusted finance partner to commercial, marketing, and operational teams, translating data into actionable insights that influence decision-making
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to support strategic initiatives and senior leadership decisions
  • Evaluate commercial opportunities and cases, assessing financial viability and risk

Performance Reporting

  • Produce timely and accurate commercial performance reports offering forward-looking insight
  • Develop and implement KPIs and dashboards to monitor key business metrics
  • Present complex financial information clearly and concisely to senior management, providing recommendations to enhance commercial outcomes

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Continuously review and improve financial reporting processes, tools, and systems to enhance efficiency
  • Leverage BI tools (Tableau, SQL) and advanced Excel to automate reporting and analysis
  • Assist with finance system implementation and automation projects

Required skills & experience

  • 3+ years proven experience in a commercial finance or FP&A function, high-growth tech, consulting, banking, or a similar analyst role in a fast-paced environment
  • Expert-level financial modelling and forecasting skills, with advanced Excel/Google Sheets experience
  • Proficiency in Tableau (or other Business Intelligence tools) and/or SQL
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to present complex financial information in a clear and structured way
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organisation
  • Demonstrable track record of partnering with non-finance stakeholders and influencing commercial decisions
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
