Role & Responsibilities

  1. Lead payroll operations for international project sites, ensuring timely and accurate processing for both local and expatriate staff.
  2. Ensure compliance with country-specific labour laws, tax regulations, and social security requirements.
  3. Coordinate with local HR teams, finance departments, and external payroll vendors to maintain payroll accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  4. Manage payroll for project-based deployments, including shadow payrolls in India, and cross-border taxation.
  5. Support global mobility and compensation team in managing expatriate benefits, allowances, and tax equalization.
  6. Monitor legislative changes in payroll regulations across regions and implement necessary updates.
  7. Prepare payroll reports, cost analyses, and compliance documentation for internal and external audits.
  8. Drive standardization and automation of payroll processes across geographies.
  9. Collaborate with project finance teams to align payroll costs with project budgets and timelines.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors degree in Commerce / Finance / Economics / Statistics / Accounting / HR, or related field (MBA or CA preferred).
  • 8- 12 years of experience in payroll, with at least 5 years in international payroll operations within EPC or project-based industries.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations in Australia, Africa, Middle East, Europe, USA and South America and other emerging markets.
