Role Overview:

As the Head of HHkVA Sales at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd within the Powerol business unit, you will lead the sales efforts for high capacity diesel generator sets exceeding 750 kVA across India. This pivotal leadership role requires a dynamic professional with a demonstrated record of success in driving sales growth and managing teams within the industrial genset market.

In this position, you will be responsible for collaborating closely with consultants, electrical contractors, and various government departments to secure approvals and foster strong business relationships. Your role includes the strategic development and presentation of project offers, as well as insightful cost analysis for installation and panel requirements associated with genset solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a dedicated sales team of five professionals focused on the HHkVA diesel generator segment, ensuring high levels of motivation, skill development, and performance.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve and exceed the set target of 100 Crore INR annually for gensets above 750 kVA capacity.
  • Establish and maintain robust relationships with consultants, electrical contractors, and government bodies to streamline approval processes and enhance market penetration.
  • Prepare detailed and competitive project proposals that accurately reflect client needs and technical requirements, ensuring alignment with cost expectations and installation parameters.
  • Provide expert insights into site-specific requirements, contributing to precise costing estimates for installation and panel configurations associated with high-capacity gensets.
  • Continuously analyse market trends and competitor activities within the heavy-duty genset domain to identify new business opportunities and potential risks.
  • Drive business growth by identifying and pursuing new market segments and fostering a culture of innovation and customer-centric solutions within the team.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and customer service teams to ensure seamless delivery and customer satisfaction.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • A proven track record of sales leadership in the heavy machinery or power generation industry, particularly in diesel generator sets exceeding 750 kVA.
  • In-depth knowledge of project-based sales including proposal preparation, cost estimation, and approval procedures involving electrical and governmental authorities.
  • Strong expertise in panel costing and installation requirements related to high-capacity gensets.
  • Experience managing a sales team with a focus on coaching, development, and performance management.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to establish trust with stakeholders and close complex sales effectively.
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and customer feedback to guide strategic decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and grow a new business vertical successfully.
