Job Summary

Suraj School, Sector 56, Gurugram, is seeking a well-organized and resourceful Librarian to manage the school library, support students and teachers in accessing resources, and promote a culture of reading and research. The ideal candidate should have strong cataloguing skills, a love for books, and the ability to guide students in effective use of library resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, organize, and maintain the school library collection (books, e-resources, periodicals, and reference materials).
  • Assist students and teachers in locating and using library resources effectively.
  • Develop and implement reading programs, book fairs, and literary activities to promote reading habits.
  • Catalog and classify new books and maintain accurate library records.
  • Ensure proper upkeep, security, and orderliness of the library.
  • Monitor book borrowing and returns; maintain a proper issue/return register.
  • Guide students in conducting research and using digital learning resources.
  • Coordinate with teaching staff to integrate library services into the curriculum.
  • Keep the library updated with latest books and educational resources.
  • Maintain discipline and a conducive learning atmosphere within the library.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Library Science (B.Lib / M.Lib) from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Librarian in a school environment (preferred).
  • Proficiency in library management systems and basic computer applications.
  • Strong organizational, record-keeping, and communication skills.
  • Passion for books, reading, and student engagement.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30, ₹60,000.00 per month
