Job Title: L1+ Firewall & Networking EngineerLocation: MumbaiJob Type: Full -time (24x7x365) shiftDepartment: IT/Network SecurityJob Overview:We are looking for a dedicated and technically skilled L1+Firewall & Networking Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate willhave a foundational understanding of networking concepts and firewalltechnologies. As an L1+ resource, you will support and maintain networksecurity infrastructures, assist in troubleshooting network issues, and provideproactive monitoring of security devices such as firewalls, routers, andswitches.# Key Responsibilities:Firewall Management & Monitoring: - Assist in the configuration, installation, andmaintenance of firewall devices (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortigate). - Monitor firewall logs and alerts, identifying andescalating issues. - Apply basic rule sets and policies based on networkrequirements and security best practices. - Assist with VPN setup and maintenance (site -to -siteand client -to -site).Network Support: - Provide basic support and troubleshooting fornetwork issues, including routing, switching, and connectivity. - Assist in configuration and maintenance ofnetworking hardware, such as routers, switches, and load balancers. - Perform basic network monitoring using tools likeSolarWinds, PRTG, or similar. - Handle basic troubleshooting of network performanceand connectivity issues.Security Incident Response: - Monitor and respond to security alerts generated byfirewalls, IDS/IPS, and other security devices. - Assist in incident management, ensuring timelyresolution of network security issues. - Perform vulnerability assessments and providereports for patching and remediation.Documentation & Reporting: - Maintain up -to -date documentation on networksecurity policies, procedures, and configurations. - Assist in generating network security reports andaudit logs as required by compliance standards. - Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions forknowledge sharing. Collaboration & Escalation: - Collaborate with senior team members to addresscomplex issues and provide insights on improving network security. - Escalate critical issues to senior networkengineers or security experts as needed. - Work closely with other IT teams (e.g., SystemsAdmins, Security Analysts) to ensure seamless operations. RequirementsEducation: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, InformationTechnology, or related field (preferred). - Networking and security certifications such asCompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or similar (preferred).Experience: - Minimum of 1 -2/3 years of hands -on experience innetwork support, firewall administration, or network security. - Exposure to working with network monitoring andsecurity tools.Technical Skills: - Basic understanding of networking protocols(TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.). - Familiarity with firewall technologies (e.g., CiscoASA, Palo Alto, Fortigate, Check Point). - Experience with VPN technologies and configuration(e.g., SSL, IPSec). - Understanding of routing and switching protocols(e.g., OSPF, BGP, VLANs). - Knowledge of network security concepts andpractices (IDS/IPS/WAF, SIEM, etc.). - Read to work in 24/7 shiftsSoft Skills: - Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. - Good communication skills (verbal and written). - Ability to work in a fast -paced environment andprioritize tasks. - Detail -oriented and proactive in identifying issuesand improvements.
