Role: Product Development Chef / Culinary Specialist
Purpose

To bridge culinary creativity with food science, ensuring that new FMCG products are
innovative, tasty, safe, scalable, and cost-effective
.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Recipe & Product Development

  2. Develop and test new food products (ready-to-eat, snacks, sauces, seasonings, frozen foods, beverages).

  3. Standardize recipes for large-scale production without compromising taste and texture.

  4. Conduct trials in R&D labs, pilot plants, and production facilities.

  5. Formula Creation & Optimization

  6. Work on ingredient functionality, replacements, and cost optimization.

  7. Ensure compliance with FSSAI, HACCP, and international food standards.

  8. Adjust formulations based on sensory evaluation and shelf-life studies.

  9. Innovation & Market Alignment

  10. Study global food trends, consumer preferences, and competitor products.

  11. Suggest innovative flavors, textures, and packaging ideas for FMCG launches.

  12. Support marketing and sales teams with demo cooking and application trials.

  13. Collaboration

  14. Work with food technologists, nutritionists, and process engineers.

  15. Partner with suppliers for new ingredient trials and improvements.
  16. Provide technical training to sales, production, and quality teams.

Qualifications

  • Education
    : B.Tech / M.Tech in Food Technology, Food Science, or Culinary Arts.
  • Experience
    : Hands-on culinary skills + experience in food product development, preferably with consultancy exposure to diverse FMCG projects.
  • Knowledge
    : Food chemistry, processing technologies, sensory science, and cost-effective formulation.

  • Strong culinary knowledge with ability to scale recipes industrially.
  • Creativity in flavor and product concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with food safety, hygiene, and compliance.
  • Good communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams.
