As a seasoned pastry chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our culinary team.

This role requires a high degree of creativity, precision, and leadership to ensure that every dish meets the highest standards of quality and consistency.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years' experience as a pastry cook in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship or convention banqueting service.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Pastry Shop and production daily.
  • Responsible for the production, quality and presentation of the pastry and dessert assortment to be used in the daily menus.
  • Assisting the Executive Pastry Chef in preparing production forecasts and recording leftovers to avoid unnecessary wastage.
  • Assisting in the set-up of the pastry display in the various buffets.
  • Ensuring compliance with United States Public Health rules and regulations.
  • Ensuring the cleaning of the Pastry Shop as per the schedule established by the Executive Pastry Chef.
  • Preparing recipes and yields in accordance with company standards.
  • Assisting the Executive Pastry Chef with the completion of the daily pastry consumption re-cap.

The ideal candidate will also have strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and outside the box. They will be able to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to the overall success of the culinary team.

Additional responsibilities include attending meetings, training activities, courses and all other work-related activities as required.
