3+ years of game design experience in a relevant role
- Excellent command over Java, HTML 5, XML
- Experience with Unreal Engine 4 in AAA game production
- Robust programming skills on varied platforms
- You possess a deep and comprehensive knowledge of the games industry and game design (learning curve, directing the player, difficulty levels, balancing, pacing, motivation & reward cycle, accessibility)
- Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus
- You ideally have exposure to Lean/Agile methodologies
- You have strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of user-centered design (UCD)

Amazon's Customer Service Instructional Design team is looking for an exceptional game designer/developer with superb critical thinking skills, excellent judgment, up-to-date designing skills and knowledge of gaming tools and platforms. Key job responsibilities You have a proven track record designing and balancing highly technical game systems and content. You have knowledge of game design theory and tools pipelines. You possess strong communication skills and production sensibilities. You have the talent to produce and implement high quality work. You want to create delightful and surprising experiences for our learners. You are able to work independently and are comfortable taking direction. You’ll share your knowledge while working within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team of designers, artists, and programmers while continue to develop your skill set. - Work closely with the Design Lead and leaders to design, implement, and own game systems, features, and content. - Generate documentation to clearly communicate gaming ideas/goals. - Prototype, implement and balance system variables to create an entertaining gameplay experience for a diverse array of play styles. - Work with cross-teams on the scheduling and integration of systems designs, along with feature development goals and execution. - Develop data-gathering methods for game balancing and tuning through focus testing, then implement changes based on the data. - Work closely with cross-teams to ensure quality throughout the product lifecycle. - Design, learn, and optimize new tools and workflows with mínimal supervision.
