**Job Description**:
We are looking for someone with a passion for adult learning and experience crafting technical training. As a learning content developer, you will work directly with Blue Planet software engineers to build engaging learning solutions by identifying source data, researching, and collecting available engineering information, and testing procedures for accuracy and validity in the lab. A technical background in telecommunications networking, OSS, or software development, or some other technology area would be a strong plus for this position.
**Responsibilities**:
- You will be responsible for all phases of instructional development as you build learning content for Blue Planet network management software. This would include need analysis, content gathering, designing courseware, and developing learning products using various e-learning tools.
- Identify, interview, and establish relationships with domain experts, technical staff, and management to develop training content
- Design and develop innovative learning solutions that meet audience training needs
- Prepare storyboards and content outlines
- Build learning content including video tutorials, technical walkthroughs, animations, classroom training, and self-paced labs
- Acquire and interpret a range of engineering information including technical notes, design specifications, and related documents
- Analyze new product releases to determine the impact on existing training content and identify new training needs
- Develop project plans and timelines
- Participate in our online community by responding to customer questions and posting knowledge-based articles
- Collaborate with instructors to design effective classroom activities and exercises
**Requirements**:
- Technical degree (BE/BSc or greater), or equivalent combination of education and technical training development
- Minimum 4-5 years’ work experience in technical training and/or technical content design and development
- Demonstrated skill in crafting original technical training and online content for telecommunications or software development
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Experience working with computer and telecommunications network products, terminology, and technology
- Technical understanding of cloud computing and virtualization platforms (AWS, Azure or VMWare) Familiarity with Linux
- Experience with Python, Java or other programming languages
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, and JSON
- Ability to plan, schedule, and be flexible while meeting tight deadlines
- Demonstrated expertise with eLearning development tools such as Articulate Rise, Camtasia, Captivate, Storyline, and Adobe Creative Cloud
- Demonstrated experience in training development using basic instructional design models such as ADDIE, SAM, or equivalent
- Ability to research, understand, and communicate sophisticated technical topics
- Good interpersonal and collaboration skills in working as part of a distributed team
- Time management and multi-tasking skills
