Key responsibilities may include: - **Material requisitioning**:Collaborating with project teams to identify required construction materials, quantities, and specifications. - **Vendor sourcing**:Researching and identifying potential suppliers for construction materials, evaluating their pricing, quality, and delivery capabilities. - **Purchase order creation**:Generating purchase orders with accurate details including item descriptions, quantities, delivery dates, and payment terms. - **Contract negotiation**:Assisting in negotiating contract terms with vendors, ensuring favorable pricing and delivery conditions. - **Supplier management**:Maintaining communication with suppliers, tracking order progress, addressing delivery issues, and resolving any discrepancies. - **Inventory control**:Monitoring stock levels of construction materials to prevent shortages or overstocking. - **Data entry and reporting**:Maintaining accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and delivery receipts within procurement software. - **Compliance management**:Ensuring procurement activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and project specifications. Required skills and qualifications: - **Technical knowledge**:Basic understanding of construction materials, specifications, and industry standards. - **Procurement skills**: Familiarity with procurement processes, including sourcing, vendor evaluation, and contract management. - **Strong communication**:Effectively communicating with project teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to coordinate procurement activities. - **Organizational skills**:Managing multiple tasks, prioritizing orders, and maintaining detailed records. - **Computer proficiency**:Experience with procurement software and Microsoft Office suite.
