Job description
- **Position Overview**:
The Assistant PR will support the online and PR team in managing and enhancing the public image of the organisation. This role involves assisting with the development and implementation of PR strategies, creating content, managing media relations, and coordinating with agencies to promote our brand effectively.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Media Relations**:

- Assist in building and maintaining relationships with key media contacts.
- Draft and distribute media alerts, and other communication materials.
- Monitor media coverage and prepare reports on PR activities.

2. **Event Coordination**:

- Support the planning and execution of PR events and promotional activities.
- Assist with logistics, invitations, and follow-up communication with attendees.

3. **Research and Analysis**:

- Conduct research on industry trends, media outlets, and competitive analysis to inform PR strategies.
- Analyze the effectiveness of PR campaigns and prepare recommendations for improvements.

4. **Social Media Management**:

- Help manage the organization’s social media platforms by creating content and helping to engage with the audience.
- Monitor social media channels for mentions and feedback, and report findings to the team head.

5. **Administrative Support**:

- Provide general administrative support to the online team, including scheduling meetings, maintaining files, and coordinating communications.
- Assist in maintaining an updated media list and PR database.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social media platforms.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Prior internship or experience in PR, marketing, or communications is a plus.
