Senior Infrastructure Analyst

The Infrastructure job installs, configures, and maintains IT systems software and hardware for multi-user server computers. Working independently under limited supervision, this job implements solutions for end user needs by ensuring the uptime, performance, resource availability, and security of computers are within established operational guidelines. This role uses their knowledge of computer languages and operations to find and fix problems in computer networks, such as network communications errors, storage problems, and malfunctioning server platforms.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Acquires, installs, and upgrades computer components and software and planning for service outages and other problems.
- Develops automation of routine tasks using scripting and writing basic computer programs to address more complex systems software configuration and enhancement.
- Develops domain solutions and executes changes in line with the implementation plan.
- Consults with senior domain administrators regarding the trouble shooting of day-to-day domain issues.
- Configures multiple servers and associated routers to ensure their smooth and reliable operation.
- Reviews documentation as it relates to domain configuration, routing, processes, and service records.
- Creates current documentation of all equipment under operational control.
- Coaches and mentors the work of lower level professionals.

Sr. Data Protection Administrator

TIAA has an opportunity for a Sr. Data Protection Administrator who will provide support to the Backup, Restore, and Recovery and Ransomware areas. This role will manage the full lifecycle of data protection backup storage solutions utilizing Dell/EMC products. In addition, will provide advice on the ITS backup and storage services. We are seeking an individual who has the demonstrated competencies and areas of expertise that include:

- Policy/Procedure/Process Development
- Project & Change Management
- Disaster Recovery
- System Administration
- Vendor Relations

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage the full lifecycle of data protection backup storage solutions
- Manage and maintain the backup systems to ensure backups are run to schedule, all SLAs are met, retentions applied, internal & external audit adherence; verify all full & incremental backup jobs are completed
- Provide technical support to users as needed: backups failures, replication needs, long-term retention configuration and client agent installations.
- Ensure support of mission critical business systems for production and Disaster Recovery readiness
- Troubleshoot problems, changes, incidents and requests for the backup storage environment using the ITIL Service Management Model
- Review technical documentation to guide system users and assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of the system
- Create documented action plans to be reviewed by peers prior to implemented changes; ensure successful implementations follow the recommended plan of action
- Formulates system scope through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems
- Evaluates and implements changes to existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary
- Collaborates with various stakeholders to design systems and to determine project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, performance standards, and interfaces
- Identifies and documents all system constraints, implications and consequences of various proposed system changes
- Support of physical and virtual tape library & offsite media rotation. Partner with vendors to secure, inventory, rotate and destroy tape media adhering to corporate protocol and policies.

Qualifications:
Required:

- Minimum of five (5) years of direct experience in the day-to-day administration of and maintaining an enterprise level data backup and recovery solution using EMC DPS Suite of Products

Preferred:

- Experience with System Manager Console with GUI and CLI for Unix, Cloud
- Experience with storage tools such as Networker, Avamar, and Data Domain
- Experience with SPLUNK, Tableau, Marketplace, Confluence
- DPS EMC Certification for Backup Data Administrator using products; Networker, Avamar, DataDomain, DDBoost, ECS (Elastic Cloud Storage), DPA Reporting
- Experience with tools such as Ransomware, Index Engine, Physical Tape Libraries, SKLM for Encryption and CLI for UNIX.
- Experience with Cloud Computing such as AWS, Azure or Google
- Experience with scripting, Ansible, and metric reporting
- Experience with ServiceNow or other incident/change ticketing systems
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
