Detailed Job Description
APD mandate is to create awareness and sensitivity with all stake-holders including Corporates, Civil Society, Government, Academia, Health professionals, Researchers, Lawmakers, Foundations other NGOs, Care-givers and Persons with disability. Towards this end, the Academic Coordinator will be required to:

- Plan, monitor, supervise and review overall progress of all academic aspects of the school programs of APD in conjunction with the Principal.
- To constantly evolve and implement appropriate methods of teaching to bring in quality education at SIS.
- Ensure effective and proper human and material resources, coach and train staff as required liaises with other professional for the same.
- Observe, counsel, and motivate staff towards attaining educational goals of school and the organization.
- Continually evaluate existing teaching practices, curriculum content and experimental programs.
- Maintain a high standard of student behavior designed to command respect and minimize school and classroom interruptions.
- Identifying intellectual, physical, social and emotional needs affecting students’ success in school, and taking steps to direct and coordinate the efforts of teachers and parents with staff services and special education personnel.
- Ensure health, and rehabilitative (Physio and communication therapy) inputs to all children in need of such therapy, ensuring utmost importance given to enhance quality of care and support to children with disability and ensure confidentiality through sensitivity in dealing with children with disability.
- Recommend changes which will lead to improved administration, supervision and opportunity for student development.
- Assist in developing appropriate resource materials related to curriculum and its efficient delivery.
- Ensuring all school records available and up to date for ready reference and reporting.
- Network and coordinate with other departments of APD for better rehabilitation and overall growth of children and assist in the effective administration and smooth running of the school.
- Attend professional conferences, seminars, and workshops in education and network /partner with other NGOs/institutions to keep abreast with upcoming strategies and better inclusion.
- Ensure that there are no lapses which may affect the overall image / performance of school / APD.
- To ensure all your staff follow all organizational norms.
