Product Safety and Compliance Officer

Reporting to the Product Integrity Manager, the Product Safety & Compliance Officer will play a key role in the growth of Sensata technology by keeping up to date with regulatory changes and ensuring that our products comply with all relevant legislation through their lifecycle. You will review the audit teams’ work and hold workshops with project teams to provide advice and support regarding any audit findings in order to achieve world class outcomes.
General Responsibilities
- Designs, implements and maintains quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into partially finished or finished products
- Conducts the planning, implementing and managing compliance of manufacturing and production processes with internal and external safety, quality and regulatory standards requirements for worldwide distribution
- Handles design methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products
- Conducts analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary
- Develops methods for testing, sampling and training
- May act as internal consultant by providing technical guidance on most complex projects
- Works with quality inspection supervisors to train and oversee inspectors in their use of control forms, procedures, and correcting quality problems
Experience / Qualifications
- A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
- Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
- Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
- Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
- Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
- Additional Responsibilities
- You will have responsibility for a global team of Product Compliance Auditors and will be supported by Material Content Experts.- Maintain an effective legal compliance process.-
- Participate in industry conferences and committees to provide feedback on lessons learned, future industry changes, expectations and provide internal communications, training and support for product safety and compliance of new and existing products.-
- Identify regulations according to the context for Sensata Technologies globally and ensure that they are correctly interpreted to be implemented within relevant Sensata Technologies organization units.-
- Schedule Technical File Audits-
- Track non-conformance tickets to closure-
- Ensure that documentation demonstrating compliance to applicable regulations (Technical File) is approved by the Product Compliance Auditor before Start of Production (SOP)-
- Monitor changes to regulations, determine the impact to the business, communicate the change requirements.-
- Work closely with different Sensata departments and stakeholders to drive product change.-
- Resolve conflicts/disagreement during the regulatory compliance management process including on time escalation to management.-
- Influence regulatory and standards requirements for the benefit of Sensata business.-
- Sign and release the Declarations of ConformityAdditional Experience
- To succeed in this role, you will have experience with product-related regulations, for example EU CE regulations.
- A reliable professional with experience of leading teams.
- Knowledge of product safety with proven experience in their implementation. Experience within automotive programs would be an advantage.
- Trained in the audit principles, procedures and methods, including the process approach and risk-based thinking.
- Strong academic background in related disciplines.
- You’ll have the ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders and cross functional teams.
