**JD FOR GENERAL DUTY ASSISTANT**

**Job Summary**:
As a General Duty Assistant (GDA) in Home Care Services, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals in their homes to maintain independence and quality of life. You will provide a range of essential services aimed at assisting clients with daily activities and ensuring their well-being. This position requires compassion, reliability, and the ability to work independently while adhering to established care plans.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Personal Care**:
l Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.

l Support clients with mobility, including transferring to and from beds, chairs, or wheelchairs.

l Provide assistance with medication reminders and basic medical tasks under the direction of healthcare professionals.

2. **Companionship and Emotional Support**:
l Engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.

l Provide emotional support and companionship, offering encouragement and a listening ear.

l Accompany clients to appointments, outings, or recreational activities as requested.

3. **Observation and Reporting**:
l Monitor and record changes in client condition, behavior, or vital signs, and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals or family members.

l Document services provided and any notable observations in client care logs or electronic records.

**Communication and Collaboration**:
l Maintain open and effective communication with clients, their families, and other members of the care team.

l Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, therapists, and social workers, to ensure coordinated care delivery.

l Follow care plans and instructions provided by supervisors, adapting as necessary to meet the evolving needs of clients.

**Qualifications and Skills**:
l High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

l Previous experience in home care, caregiving, or a related field is preferred.

l Compassionate and empathetic approach to caregiving, with a genuine desire to help others.

l Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

l Ability to work independently and responsibly, demonstrating reliability and trustworthiness.

l Basic knowledge of personal care techniques, infection control practices, and safety precautions.

l Willingness to undergo background checks and any required training or certifications.
