Freight Forwarding Operations

Correspond with various carriers to negotiate rates and organize shipments
- Produce documentation related to shipments (AWB, SWB, BOL, etc)
- Proactively follow up on shipments to ensure they are moving according to plan
- Produce invoices and audit bills
- Work with the team to problem solve challenges
- Meet customers locally when required
- Responsible for ensuring each shipment generates the maximum contribution to the company by keeping constant focus on meeting the required service level at the lowest possible cost
- Maintain and file all records in accordance with company procedure
- Constantly review working processes with carriers and transport companies to ensure best practices, but also that fees charged are in line with competitors
- Assist the sales team with quotations and client/product knowledge

**Operations (Ocean Imports)**:

- Quote overseas agency for services in Canada/USA
- Receive Pre Alert
- Create internal file in Excel (basically data entry)
- File E-manifest (if required)
- Send notice to Importer about ETA
- In case we are handling trucking then send work order to truckers and follow up if delivery is as per schedule
- In case we are handling customs clearance then send BL, E-manifest, Inv, PL to customs broker and follow up if all in order
- Generate invoice and send to customer
- Double check if the vendor invoices are per quote
- Forward vendor invoices to accounts
- Make sure payment is received before delivery of shipment (non credit clients)

**Business Development**:

- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and prospecting.
- Acquire new customers for domestic, International and trans-border air cargo by maximizing all potential opportunities with existing clients and through cold calling and/or meeting with new prospects.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop proposals, pricing strategies, and sales presentations.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitive landscape, and potential growth areas.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and emerging technologies.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and objectives.
- Develop international agents to strengthen the operational network in order to provide cost effective and efficient solutions.
- Prepare regular reports on sales activities, pipeline, and forecasts.
- Promote our services which include, but are not limited to Ocean Import/Export, Air Import/Export and Trucking.
- Develop relationships with customers and generate new business.
- Participate in sales meetings and produce weekly reports.

- Send booking confirmation with ERD Cut off Docs cut off
- Create internal file in Excel (basically data entry)
- In case we are handling trucking then send work order to truckers and follow up if loading is as per schedule
- Follow up to get SI before SI cut off
- File CERS/ AES
- File SI
- Submit VGM
- Send Draft BL
- Make sure draft is approved before sailing and in Hapag case it should be approved before port cut off
- Generate invoice and send to customer
- Double check if the vendor invoices are per quote
- Forward vendor invoices to accounts
- Make sure payment is received before releasing BL (non credit clients)
