**ENGINEER OVERVIEW**:

- We are seeking an experienced VMware engineer to join our team at an expert level.
- As an integral part of our IT infrastructure team, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our VMware environment.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**BE ABLE TO DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT**:

- Be a part of the design, architecture, and implementation of VMware virtualization solutions based on business requirements and industry best practices.

**INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT**:

- Manage and maintain vCD, VMware vSphere infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and associated components.

**PERFORMANCE OPTIMIZATION**:

- Analyze and optimize virtualized environments for performance, scalability, and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot performance issues and implement solutions to improve overall system performance.

**SECURITY AND COMPLIANCE**:

- Experience in implementing security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Configure and manage security features such as vSphere Security Hardening Guide, VM encryption, and role-based access control (RBAC).

**DISASTER RECOVERY AND HIGH AVAILABILITY**:

- Design, configure, and maintain VMware solutions for disaster recovery and high availability, including VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and VMware High Availability (HA).

**AUTOMATION AND SCRIPTING**:

- Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Utilize PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python or other scripting languages for automation purposes.

**MONITORING AND ALERTING**:

- Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Configure alerts and notifications for critical events and performance thresholds.

**CAPACITY PLANNING**:

- Perform capacity planning and forecasting to ensure adequate resources are available to support current and future business needs.
- Recommend hardware and software upgrades as necessary.

**DOCUMENTATION AND KNOWLEDGE SHARING**:

- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design documents, configuration guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Share knowledge and provide training to junior team members as needed.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a VMware engineer, with a focus on designing and managing enterprise-level virtualized environments.
- VMware certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) are highly desired.
- In-depth knowledge of VMware vSphere, vCenter Server, ESXi, vSAN, NSX, and other VMware products.
- Strong understanding of networking, storage, and server technologies.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python, or similar languages.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
