**What are the** **performance** **outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?**
Provide force multiplication for senior executives in our Chennai, India office:
- Within 15 days of employment, become familiar with VMware tools, processes, and procedures required to schedule travel, manage expenses, book meetings, and more.
- Within 30 days, get to know the key members of the team, high priority initiatives, and become comfortable with the operating cadence of the organization.
- Within 45 days of employment, move into proactive management of calendar and scheduling.
- Over the remainder of the year, become an essential force multiplier for the supported executives
**What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?**
We are seeking an Executive Assistant with passion, high integrity, great communication skills, and problem-solving ability to support and coordinate projects for our India locations within VMware’s Platform Services Organization. The Executive Assistant is responsible for overall coordination, communication, effectiveness, and efficiency of the executives’ calendars.
Responsibilities of the Executive Assistant include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Coordinate and plan meetings, conference calls, and special events, including arrangement of logistics, meeting space, communications, and catering
- Arrange and confirm local, domestic, and international travel for the executives
- Facilitate clear communication and maintain credibility, trust and support between the assigned executives and internal staff, and with external clients and partners
- Create, edit, and proofread business communications and documents utilizing MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Prepare/track expense reports
- Create/track purchasing requests as required
- Special projects on an as-needed basis
- Support general organization activities such as organization chart updates
**What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?**
The Hiring Manager for this role the Director R&D Operations for VMware’s SEBU. They are responsible for a broad and diverse team managing operations for Chennai Executives and for providing services to the larger engineering organization.
The team is based globally, but we are very remote friendly. Where is this role located?
Flexible: The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager. You will be expected to live within a reasonable non-daily commute of the office.
