**Role & responsibilities**

**Legal Compliance**:

- Advise on compliance with international trade laws, regulations, and policies (including tariffs, import/export restrictions, and customs regulations).
- Monitor and interpret changes in legislation impacting the import-export industry.
- **Contract Management**:

- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers, vendors, and clients to ensure favorable terms and risk mitigation.
- Manage agreements related to import/export, including freight forwarding, logistics, and distribution.
**- Dispute Resolution**:

- Represent the organization in disputes related to import/export transactions, including mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed to address complex legal matters.
**- Risk Assessment**:

- Identify potential legal risks associated with business operations in the import-export sector and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Conduct legal audits and assessments to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
**- Advisory Role**:

- Provide legal advice to senior management on various issues affecting the business, including regulatory matters, risk management, and corporate governance.
- Assist in the development and implementation of company policies regarding compliance and legal matters.
**- Training and Support**:

- Conduct training sessions for internal stakeholders on legal and compliance issues relevant to the import-export industry.
- Provide guidance and support to business units regarding legal questions and concerns affecting their operations.
- Licensed to practice law in India.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate law, with a focus on import-export or international trade law.
- In-depth knowledge of international trade laws, customs regulations, export controls, and sanctions.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
- High ethical standards and professional integrity.
