**Job Summary**

As a part of our continued expansion in its technology organization, Targray is seeking to hire a Database Administrator (MS SQL Server/Azure) to join our Risk and Data Technology team based at our India Office Gurgaon, Haryana. This role will be responsible for managing both on-premises and cloud-based database environments, with a focus on Microsoft Azure services.

**Responsibilities**
- Maintain and improve database deployment and update processes. Ensure compliance in related tasks with company and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Design and plan database architectures for both on-premises and Azure cloud environments, considering scalability, high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and data resilience.
- Deploy, configure, and manage on-premises databases and Azure cloud-based database services, such as MS SQL Server, Azure SQL Database
- Monitor and optimize database performance for optimal query execution times, response rates, and resource utilization. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and inefficiencies including query tuning, physical and logical database improvements (memory, VLF, file layouts, partitioning, reporting vs. transactional data /schema separation etc.)
- Implement robust security measures for on-premises and cloud databases to protect sensitive data. Adhere to industry best practices and compliance standards to ensure data confidentiality and integrity.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks for on-premises and cloud environments, including database backups, patching, and data replication. Respond to and resolve database-related incidents and issues promptly.
- Set up database performance and health monitoring - resource utilization, resource contentions and limits management, scaling and capacity planning.
- Create and test disaster recovery plans for both on-premises and cloud databases to ensure data availability in case of system failures or outages.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their database requirements and provide technical support for database design, performance, and troubleshooting.
- Assist in designing and implementing hybrid cloud solutions that involve seamless data movement between on-premises and Azure cloud environments.
- Migrate existing on-premises databases to MS Azure, creating data pipelines and ETL using MS Azure services and technologies.
- Building required data pipelines for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various data sources using Cloud and SQL technologies and supporting them.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in on-premises and cloud database technologies and contribute to improving database practices within the organization.

**Requirements**:

- 5+ years of proven experience administering on-premises and cloud-based database solutions in Microsoft Azure.
- In-depth knowledge of MS SQL Server, Azure SQL Database and other relevant Azure data services.
- Proficiency in SQL query optimization and troubleshooting performance issues in both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of database security principles and data protection techniques for on-premises and cloud deployments.
- Familiarity with disaster recovery and backup strategies for on-premises and cloud-based databases.
- Monitor database activity and usage and allocate necessary resources to function optimally.
- Data warehouse concepts (Implementation of ETL pipelines, data integration components)
- Must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule to support/maintenance of the SQL Environment whenever required (i.e. system implementations and maintenance may be performed in off hours).
- Adhere to timelines and quality of the assigned task.
- Ability to work under pressure on multiple assignments.
- Must have excellent English oral and written communication skills.
