**Job Summary**:
We are looking for passionate and hardworking Commi -I Cook to join our fast growing, multi-cuisine restaurant in Goa. The cook is responsible to prepare a consistent, high-quality food product, ensure courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service and maintain restaurant's operational standards. The cook will be also responsible for assisting Chef de Cuisine/Sous Chef in cooking and then ensuring that all stations are clean. Ensure proper storage of food items/raw materials in freezers/refrigerators and ensure proper portioning of dishes, and food garnishing.
**Duties and responsibilities**:
1. Prepare food for guests while following guidelines laid out, ensuring the quality and quantity as per the restaurant standards and state regulations.
2. Fulfill guest orders in a timely manner while adhering to best practices and careful preparation of food items.
3. As a Responsible Cook, you need to comply with the conditions of the food hygiene policies.
4. Be a role model to your respective department and others around.
5. Control food stock and food cost in your food department and overall kitchen.
6. Communicate the assistance needed during busy hours of the Restaurant.
1. As an effective Commis I Chef ensure that all stocks are well maintained and required stock orders are placed in timely manner.
2. Ensure that mise-en-place for food preparation is completed in your department.
3. Ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily preparations of food.
4. Keep up to date with the new products, recipes and preparation techniques.
5. Always maintain proper sanitation, cleanliness of surfaces and storage container and the overall kitchen.
6. Ensure constant innovation in food menu & buffet preparation and presentation.
7. Follow and maintain cleanliness and good hygiene practices in the kitchen.
8. Keep work area at all times in hygienic conditions according to the rules set by the Restaurant.
9. Monitor the quality and quantity of food that is prepared for the guests
10. Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.
11. Prepare & cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.
12. Prepare fresh ingredients for cooking according to recipes/menu.
13. Be responsible in maintaining everyday raw materials and food logs.
14. Ensure that the kitchen cleaning schedules are followed everyday as per the needed standards.
15. Support the Chef & Sous Chef in the daily operation and work.
16. Test food to ensure proper preparation and temperature before serving.
17. Assist Chef in preparing food according to the requirements, recipes or standards.
18. To assist chef with chopping, packing, and helping/learning with dishes.
19. Attend and assist in training the team to be efficient in preparing the orders.
20. Be flexible and willing to help other departments at busy times as and when required.
**Requirements**:
1) Minimum 2 years work experience in Indian, Chinese or Goan cuisine.
2) Perfect Knowledge of department
3) Great teamwork skills and attention to detail.
4) Able to take responsibility.
5) Be Customer focused and give priority for better customer service.
6) Enjoys working in a lively, fast-paced environment, someone who lives his hobby and is passionate about cooking and food.
7) This role requires the ability to move and lift up to 25 lbs or more
8) Standing or walking for extended periods of time and ensuring a professional appearance in a clean uniform is also required.
9) Flexibility to work in changing circumstances.
**Job Timings**:
Should be available to work between 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM and 6:30 PM and 11:30 PM Monday through Sunday with one weekly off.

**Salary**: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
