**Position Summary**: The Surveyor will be responsible for conducting land surveys, measuring and mapping land areas, and providing accurate data and reports to support construction projects. The role involves using a variety of surveying instruments and technologies to collect data on land features, boundaries, and construction sites.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Land Surveying**:
- Conduct land and topographic surveys to establish property boundaries and site layouts.
- Perform measurements of distances, angles, and elevations using surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS, and levels.
- Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys.
- **Data Collection and Analysis**:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret geographic information from geodetic surveys, aerial photographs, and satellite data.
- Ensure the accuracy and precision of survey data by conducting field checks and adjusting data as necessary.
- **Mapping and Reporting**:
- Create detailed maps and drawings using CAD software and other mapping tools.
- Prepare and present detailed survey reports and documentation to project managers and clients.
- **Collaboration and Communication**:
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to understand project requirements and provide necessary survey data.
- Communicate survey results and findings clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
- **Compliance and Safety**:
- Ensure all survey activities comply with legal and regulatory standards.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures during fieldwork to ensure the safety of the surveying team and the public.
- **Equipment Maintenance**:
- Maintain and calibrate surveying instruments and equipment.
- Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and report any malfunctions or issues promptly.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in using surveying instruments (total stations, GPS, levels) and software (AutoCAD, GIS).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with local land use and construction regulations.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Certification or licensure as a Professional Surveyor.
- Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects.
