Peptide Chemist

**Responsibilities**:

- Plan and execute synthesis of peptides (Solid and Solution phase) as per the requirements of the project
- Adhere to EHS/SHE, Data Integrity and IPM compliance
- Sound presentation and communication skills

**Requirements**:

- Practical knowledge in synthesis of peptides through solid and solution phase. Understand the significance and relevance of protection group strategy.
- Propose new/alternate routes of synthesis or strategy to overcome challenges
- Experienced in synthesizing cyclic peptides and modifications associated with peptides
- Thorough knowledge in the selection of coupling reagents, orthogonally protected amino acids
- Experience with automated synthesizer - Thorough planning and execution
- Data interpretation of intermediates and target peptides (HPLC, LC-MS, NMR, UV-Vis)
- Analytical knowledge and planning of purification to ensure delivery of projects
- Maintain ELN records and submit experimental procedures and analytical data in a timely manner
- Adherence to lab safety and industrial hygiene practices

**Experience**

Incumbent should have relevant experience in peptide synthesis / chemistry with M.Sc. (2-10 yrs) and/or Ph. D. (up to 5 yrs.)
