Finance Officer

**Position Title**: Finance Officer (Full
- Time, 100%)

**Job description**:
Oversee the Project’s financial transactions, including payments, receipts, and budget management of our project partners /implementing locations. The Finance Officer is fully responsible for the financial transactions and financial monitoring of a German Government funded project (project ends 31.12.2027)

The Finance Officer is responsible for the Financial Planning, Management and Monitoring of this Project tasks include developing budgets, monitoring financial performance, preparing financial reports and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and guidelines. The Finance Officer works closely with other Project Staff to utilise resources effectively and ensure that the Project achieves its financial objectives.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the Project's financial transactions, including payments, receipts, and budget management of our project partners/locations (this includes monitoring visits to the project locations and capacity building trainings for local staff)
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting and timely expenditure.
- Monitor financial performance, identifying areas of improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit regular financial reports to project stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, guidelines, and donor requirements.
- Collaborate with project staff to optimize resource utilization and achieve project objectives.
- Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and systems to ensure efficient and effective financial management.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the project's financial integrity and sustainability.
- Provide financial guidance and support to project staff, promoting financial literacy and best practices.
- Facilitate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and addressing any audit findings.
- Work closely with the Project Accountant to ensure all financial transactions of the Project are properly recorded, accounted for, and reconciled in accordance with established accounting standards and procedures.

**Pay**: ₹36,000.00 per month

Working times: 9:30 A.M - 6:00 P.M

**Project Name**: Promoting the employability of disadvantaged youth through modern, marketable vocational training in Tamil Nadu

**Duration of Project**: 3 Years

**Job description and explanations**: The Finance Officer is responsible for the financial planning, management and monitoring of the project. Tasks include developing budgets, monitoring financial performance, preparing financial reports and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and guidelines. The Finance Manager works closely with other project staff to utilize resources effectively and ensure that the project achieves its financial objectives.

**Qualification & Skills**:

- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required
- 5+ years’ experience in a financial management position preferably with international donors (German or US government)

or NGOs, experience with handling FCRA accounts preferred
- Proven strategic planning experience at the management level
- Strong communication and presentation skills in English
- Ability to communicate with international teams (German donors) efficiently

Ability to travel to project locations on a regular basis
