Mason

**Job Summary**:
A Mason is responsible for performing all types of masonry work on construction sites, including brickwork, blockwork, plastering, tiling, stonework, and concrete work. The Mason must ensure that all construction work is carried out as per the approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. The role requires physical strength, precision, and attention to detail to achieve high-quality finishing.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Brickwork and Blockwork**:

- Lay bricks, concrete blocks, hollow blocks, and other masonry materials to construct walls, partitions, and structures as per drawings.
- Align and level bricks or blocks using plumb bob, level, and measuring tools.
- Fill joints between bricks or blocks with mortar or cement and smooth surfaces.
- **Plastering and Finishing Work**:

- Ensure proper leveling, finishing, and smoothness of the surface after plastering.
- Repair or patch up damaged plastered walls or surfaces.
- **Concrete Work**:

- Assist in preparing concrete mix as per ratio specified by the engineer.
- Lay and level concrete surfaces for flooring, slabs, and other structures.
- Construct concrete forms and frameworks using wooden or steel molds.
- **Tiling and Stone Work**:

- Fix floor tiles, wall tiles, and cladding tiles using tile adhesive or cement mortar.
- Cut and shape tiles using hand tools or tile cutters for accurate fitting.
- Install marble, granite, and other natural stones with precise finishing.
- **Foundation and Structural Work**:

- Construct foundations, footings, and column bases as per drawings and instructions.
- Ensure proper compaction of soil and concrete to avoid settlement or cracking.
- Follow the line and level as per site marking and drawings.
- **Measurement and Alignment**:

- Measure and cut materials to specified dimensions as per drawing and site requirement.
- Ensure accurate vertical and horizontal alignment of masonry work.
- Use measuring tools like measuring tape, plumb bob, level, and spirit level.
- **Safety and Housekeeping**:

- Follow safety protocols and wear necessary PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) like helmets, gloves, and safety shoes.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from debris or hazardous materials.
- Report any unsafe conditions or accidents to the site supervisor immediately.
- **Collaboration and Communication**:

- Work closely with civil engineers, site supervisors, and other workers to ensure timely completion of work.
- Communicate any material shortage, quality issues, or technical problems to the site supervisor.
- Assist in material unloading, stacking, and storage in designated areas.
- **Repair and Maintenance Work**:

- Repair damaged walls, floors, and other masonry structures as required.
- Conduct small concrete or plaster repairs to fix cracks, holes, or uneven surfaces.
- Assist in demolishing or modifying existing masonry structures.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as a Mason in construction sites.
- Knowledge of different masonry techniques, materials, and tools.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and instructions.
- Physical strength, stamina, and ability to work in outdoor environments.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and site procedures.

**Work Environment**:

- The Mason will work primarily outdoors on construction sites.
- Requires frequent lifting, bending, and working in dusty or noisy environments.
- May need to work under tight deadlines or extreme weather conditions.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹250,000.00 per month
