**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Training Program Development**:
- Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs on ME engines
and related marine engineering topics.
- Ensure training modules meet industry standards and focus on practical
aspects of ME engine operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Regularly update training content to include the latest advancements in engine
technology, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
**2. Technical Training Delivery**:
- Conduct in-house and onboard training sessions for marine engineers,
focusing on ME engine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Provide hands-on training and workshops, ensuring engineers are proficient in
handling engine automation systems and electronic control units (ECUs).
- Evaluate and assess engineers' technical knowledge and practical skills during
training sessions and onboard visits.
**3. Assessment & Competency Evaluation**:
- Conduct regular competency assessments of shipboard engineers, particularly
Chief Engineers and Second Engineers, to ensure they are capable of operating
ME engines safely and efficiently.
- Design and implement technical tests, simulations, and performance
evaluations to assess the engineers’ understanding of ME engine systems.
- Provide constructive feedback to engineers and create individual development
plans to address any gaps in knowledge or skills.
**4. Crew Development & Support**:
- Support the career development of engineering crew by providing guidance on
advanced technical skills and certification requirements.
- Assist in developing career progression paths for shipboard engineers,
ensuring they have opportunities for growth within the company.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a learning environment focused
on technical excellence, safety, and regulatory compliance.
**5. ME Engine Troubleshooting & Support**:
- Provide technical support and expertise to shipboard engineers regarding the
operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of ME engines.
- Assist with diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to engine
automation, fuel injection systems, and engine control units (ECUs).
- Collaborate with the Technical Department and equipment manufacturers to
ensure that any complex technical issues are resolved in a timely manner.
**6. Regulatory Compliance & Safety**:
- Ensure training programs are aligned with international maritime regulations
(e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL) and manufacturer’s operational guidelines for ME
engines.
- Promote safety awareness and best practices related to engine operation and
maintenance, particularly in emergency procedures involving ME engine
failures.
- Ensure that engineers are well-versed in safety procedures and equipment,
including engine room safety protocols and emergency shutdown procedures
for electronically controlled engines.
**7. Documentation & Reporting**:
- Maintain accurate records of all training activities, including attendance,
competency assessments, and training outcomes.
- Prepare detailed reports on the competency levels of engineering crew and
provide recommendations to management for further development or
additional training needs.
- Ensure that all training materials, manuals, and resources are up-to-date and
accessible to the crew.
**8. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement**:
- Collaborate with the Fleet Technical Manager, Training Manager, and other
superintendents to continuously improve training programs based on feedback
and industry advancements.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in marine engineering, particularly in
ME engine technologies, by attending seminars, workshops, and manufacturer
training programs.
- Act as the liaison between the company and ME engine manufacturers to
ensure that best practices are communicated to shipboard engineers.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per month
