**ORGANIZATION:
Reporting to the DPA and Director based in Singapore, you will be in-charge of designing, delivering, and managing the on-board training of crew and officers by sailing for 1-3 weeks on each vessel on a rotation basis. Given the nature of the job, being an onboard training role work from home city would be ideal. Depending on your location and preference, role can be located anywhere or in our client’s office as well.

**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your primary role is to ensure crew competence for safe and efficient operations of the company’s vessels. Typically, you will cover 12-18 vessels per year depending on vessels’ voyage plans. The stay on the ship would depend on the ship itinerary but is likely to be more than 1 week and less than 3 weeks. This would mean 2-3 weeks of travel to the vessels and 1 week or more gap in between two trips to complete a verbal and written report, plan for next trip, get tickets issued, communicate with the vessel, deal with colleagues’ specific requests, file expense claims, etc.

**During the on-board training trips, you will focus on**

**Crew development.** Help build performing crew teams on-board with a strong focus on quality, safety, operations, and technical excellence. Motivate the employees on board to excel. Provide training report for the visit and feedback on vessel’s preparedness for PSC inspections.

**Safety awareness.** Train on safety matters and operational training. Train for creating and maintaining a safe and compliant working environment as per company procedures. Motivate Ship’s staff to work towards quality and continuous improvement.

**Procedural improvement.** Guide and train on how to follow up with oil majors’ requirements. How to effectively engage and facilitate Port State Inspections. Coordinate closely with marine department on scope for training needed in specific areas and domains identified on board and identify weak areas requiring special focus.

**Strategic planning.** Liaise closely with the crewing, technical, SHEQ, and training teams to ensure the onboard training initiatives are within the agreed objectives and strategies. Allocation of resources, setting processes, implementing improvement plans in a rigorous and structured way for crew competence development for all ships in the fleet.

**Budget management. **Developing the annual training plan and execute it. Take full responsibility for the budget assigned for onboard training.

**Relationship management. **Build and maintain** **close relationships with the ship’s crew and management teams, and onshore teams. Working closely with crewing department to familiarise with crew’s background and nature.

**Requirements**:
**YOUR** **PROFILE**:

- Gas Experience: You must have sailed on Gas ships. You must have some experience ashore in training, marine vetting, or technical and willing to travel and train on board.
- Level of experience: Master, Chief Engineer. A Chief officer or second Engineer be considered provided you have at least 2 years of shore based training experience.
- Proficient in English including report writing.
- People oriented and passionate about developing shipboard teams.
- Highly analytical with a proactive approach to finding solutions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with any stakeholder.
- Able to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Well updated with the latest regulatory requirements and its implementation.
