To manage the governance process for technical policy, standards and guidelines.

To drive best practice designs that promote stability and operational efficiency.
- Service Technologies
- To work on core database technologies in:

- Oracle - Database Concepts and administration.
- Performance tuning & Monitoring - Oracle OEM, SolarWinds, Script Based Tools
- HA & replication - Oracle Data Guard, Log Miner &RAC.
- Backup Solutions - Oracle RMAN, Datapump, Export/Import
- Amazon AWS Database & RelatedTechnologies - Oracle RDS (Desired)
- Core competency on Oracle 11g/12c/ 19c / Grid Control Database Administration.
- Certification in core competency preferred. (desired, but not required)
- Good understanding of AWS RDS and EC2 instances. (desired, but not required)
- Good understanding of platform O/S (Linux / Windows)
- Good understanding of platform scripting (Bash, PowerShell)

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide 24*7 supports for production, development, and test databases.
- Be responsible for standard databases administration duties: including, but not limited to, installation, patching and change migration, monitoring, backup and recovery.
- Build, upgrade, migrate and maintain databases.
- Installation, engineering and administration of Oracle standalone/RAC/ASM/GI clustered (11g, 12c, 19c ) environments.
- Installation, configuration and administration of data replication technologies: Data Guard, Active Data Guard.
- Use RMAN backup/recovery and deployment.
- Use Oracle Grid Control (OEM19c) for monitoring.
- Support patching and upgrades of Servers, databases and appliances.
- Support disaster recovery events.
- Support Incident and Problem management.
- Experienced with Oracle failover and switchover concepts..
- Partitioning and advanced compression skills.
- Expertise in performance tuning of SQL statements, reports, Oracle database and Database server.
- Knowledge of Instance Tuning, Memory Tuning and SQL Tuning.
- Provide technical support and coordination for core infrastructure components including server, network, storage, software and middleware.
- Communicate effectively with DBA team members, developers and management.
- Experienced architecting, configuring, designing and deploying Oracle databases for OLTP, DW and data marts usage and including HA, failover for maximum availability architecture.

Operations
- Responsible for maintaining services to agreed Service Levels through effective management and communication to all parties.
- Responsible for alerting the Leadership team, Service managers and Business of any issues that impact production or result in reduced resilience during a production period.
- Is involved in the maintenance and regular testing of tier 0 disaster recovery plans
- Ensuring that system failures are contained and resolved with minimum business impact and that steps are taken to manage failures in IT delivery.
- To join the Incident Management team during major incidents
- To ensure timely weekly preparation of brief management reports
- To regularly revue working practices to identify opportunities to work smarter and more effectively
- Oversee changes to ensure mínimal disruption and compliance with change processes
- Provide timely participation in follow in problem focus groups
- Involved in updates for operational procedures and associated support documentation.
- To at all times follow and encourage ITIL best practice.
