**Key Purpose of the Job (Position Summary) **This position shall be responsible to drive QCDSM goals at the plant by identifying various improvement projects / initiatives. The role incumbent shall also be responsible for training and guiding employees at the plant to develop a culture of continuous improvement with focus on establishing a Quality system.

**KEY ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Strategic**
- Drive initiatives in the area of Business Excellence and Quality to create a technical edge for the company
- Prepare the Academy budgets for department including outsourcing of certain quality trainings
- Advise the senior management on best practices and new initiatives and their impact on productivity, quality, efficiency and morale to ensure management support for implementation of such initiatives
- Prepare and Review 5 S Action plans for the department in consultation with the Head academy
- Prepare and review training calendars for the respective department
- Establish audit and review parameters and systems
- Act as a catalyst for change and improve the performance and quality by initiating new processes or developing the existing processes.

**Productivity Improvement**
- Identify areas for improvement through detailed review of parameters and suggest suitable action steps
- Lead Value Adding initiatives in the Plant by using Kaizen, VSM, Quality Circle and Total Productivity Management
- Drive and lead improvement projects like SPARSH, SPC, Identification of unsafe conditions, elimination of Muri, Kaizen etc in the respective division
- Collaborate with the Quality team in improving the PPM defects on in-line rejections
- Work on cycle time reduction on bottleneck machines by taking up man machine motion study & cutting tool quality improvement to improve process parameters

**Training**
- Train the management staff at the Plant on the established steps in TPM and coach individuals, teams, and departments regarding steps and act as the primary resource to all departments
- Train and coach individuals and teams in appropriate use of Process Improvement and Design methodologies and tools
- Collect Best Practices and share with other Plants for horizontal deployment
- Keep abreast of technical developments and know-how to contribute to the continuous improvement of the Plant
- Ensure timely Sparsh, PM and 5S trainings are conducted and educate the shop floor employees on quality standards
- Offer training programs for Quality tools like CPA, PA, FMEA, MPS, TS, etc. to employees either through internal / external trainers or specialists from the industry

Documentation & Analysis
- Analyse performance indicators, trends and information from the daily processes and take necessary actions where appropriate
- Conduct various analysis to ensure that the defects are reduced
- Follow up with operation departments for corrective and preventive actions as agreed in the meetings
- Conduct the non-achieving parameter analysis and collectively action through DWM process
- Perform a detailed analysis on the reports generated and make recommendations and present it to the top management
- Conduct and review why - why analysis for identification of solutions in production problems
- Prepare plan v/s actual reports for targets achieved for all divisions on developmental projects like QIP’s or Kaizans etc.
- Conduct & Review SPARSH score analysis for all divisions in department
- Review all QBM audit scores and accordingly plan for corrective action

**Team & Relationship Management**
- Organize and develop a team and train them for conducting system audits or inspection
- Provide ongoing coaching & guidance for team members
- Ensure QBM team is adequately trained and proactively work with HR at capability enhancement of team
- Conduct effective performance appraisals for the team and provide regular feedback
- Motivate, counsel and coach employees to ensure a conducive working environment

**Education**:Engineer Graduate.Preferably MBA in Operations with relevant work experience

**Experience**:8 - 10 years experience in Manufacturing or quality especially with experience of leading improvement initiatives
