Faculty / Trainer - Medical Coding

Job description

We are seeking a CPC certified experienced Medical Coding Trainer to join our team. The Medical

Coding Trainer will be responsible for delivering training programs to the students and prepare them

coding, excellent communication and instructional abilities, and a passion for continuous

professional development.

**Responsibilities**:

- Deliver comprehensive training in medical coding to students at various levels, including

beginners and experienced professionals adhering to the training time lines.
- Provide instruction on various coding systems, such as ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS,

modifiers and educate students on accurate code assignment, documentation

requirements, and coding compliance.
- Assess trainee performance by conducting periodic assessments and give regular

constructive feedback to support their learning and progress.
- Should be able to Identify individual coder development needs and provide targeted

coaching and mentoring.
- Utilize various training methodologies, including classroom instruction, e-learning modules

and hands-on practice, to cater to different learning styles and maximize knowledge

retention..
- Use coding scenarios and case studies to reinforce coding principles and promote critical

thinking skills.
- Conduct timed mock CPC exams, review the results and give individual feedback to

ensure thorough preparation for the CPC exam.
- Stay updated on current coding guidelines, regulations, and industry trends to ensure

training content reflects the latest coding practices and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with the HOD and program director to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness

of training programs through assessments, feedback surveys, and performance

evaluations.
- Participate in the development and review of coding policies, procedures, and

documentation templates.
- Maintain accurate training records and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory and

quality assurance requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Should be a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) with prior experience in training
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a medical coding trainer for CPC certification.
- Strong knowledge of medical coding systems and guidelines (e.g., ICD-10-CM, CPT,

HCPCS) and coding conventions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex coding

concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
- Experience in designing and delivering effective training programs for adult learners.
- Familiarity with medical coding software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Proficient in navigating through the ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding manuals.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple training initiatives

concurrently.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on coding

changes and industry advancements.

**Salary**: ₹21,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
