We are seeking a **B2B Subject Matter Expert (SME)** to lead and shape the growth of our **B2B Marketplace for Hotels**. This role requires a deep understanding of the hospitality industry's B2B ecosystem, including hotel inventory distribution, connectivity with OTAs, travel agents (TAs), tour operators (TOs), bedbanks, and other suppliers. The SME will bridge the gap between hotel partners, technology, and business teams to deliver a robust marketplace experience that aligns with the needs of hotels and distribution partners.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Industry Expertise**:
- Act as the primary expert in hotel operations, distribution systems, and B2B connectivity.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor strategies, and evolving hotel needs to ensure the marketplace remains competitive and relevant.
**Hotel Partner Engagement**:
- Work closely with hotels to understand their distribution challenges and requirements.
- Collaborate with onboarding teams to ensure seamless integration of hotel inventory into the marketplace.
**Supplier Network Management**:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, including OTAs, TAs, TOs, and bedbanks.
- Guide supplier onboarding processes to ensure smooth connectivity and alignment with the marketplace platform.
**Preferred Collaboration**:
- Develop strategies to maximize the marketplace’s value proposition for such major distribution partners.
**Product and Strategy Development**:
- Collaborate with product teams to define and enhance marketplace features, focusing on hotel and supplier needs.
- Provide input on pricing models, rate plans, and connectivity standards to ensure effective marketplace operations.
**Process Improvement**:
- Identify inefficiencies in current B2B processes and propose solutions to enhance speed, accuracy, and partner satisfaction.
- Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) for hotel and supplier interactions.
**Training and Knowledge Sharing**:
- Train internal teams, including sales and support, on the specific needs of hotels and how to address them within the marketplace.
- Develop resources like playbooks, FAQs, and training materials for hotels and suppliers.
**Performance Analysis and Reporting**:
- Analyze the performance of hotel distribution channels within the marketplace.
- Provide actionable insights to improve hotel and supplier engagement and marketplace profitability.
**Qualifications**:
**Experience**:
- 5-8 years of experience in the hospitality industry, specifically in hotel distribution, connectivity, or B2B marketplaces.
**Skills**:
- In-depth knowledge of hotel operations and inventory distribution strategies.
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and navigate complex B2B relationships.
**Technical Proficiency**:
- Understanding of API integrations and hotel technology ecosystems.
- Proficiency with analytics tools for monitoring and improving marketplace performance.
**Education**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or advanced certifications in hotel management is a plus.
