We are seeking an experienced **Legal Expert** with a strong foundation in **English law** and a working understanding of **blockchain governance** to contribute to a research project titled _"Decentralization or Delegation? An Analysis of Bitcoin Governance, Legal Accountability, and Property Rights Under English Law."_ The role involves providing legal insights into the regulatory and jurisprudential challenges posed by decentralized digital systems like Bitcoin.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Analyze legal implications of decentralization versus delegation in the context of Bitcoin governance.
- Evaluate accountability structures within decentralised networks under the framework of English legal doctrines (e.g. fiduciary duties, agency law).
- Provide expert analysis on the classification and treatment of digital assets and property rights under English law.
- Interpret relevant case law, statutory developments, and policy proposals affecting blockchain systems.
- Assist in drafting or reviewing academic or legal research papers related to crypto-legal issues.
- Offer guidance on how legal frameworks can (or cannot) be adapted to decentralised organisational structures.

**Required Qualifications & Skills**:

- LLB and/or LLM (PhD preferred) in **Law**, with a focus on **property law**, **technology law**, or **financial regulation** under **English common law**.
- Demonstrated experience or interest in **cryptocurrency regulation**, **blockchain governance**, or **digital asset law**.
- Strong legal research and writing skills, with the ability to analyse complex legal issues.
- Familiarity with decentralised systems, smart contracts, and the legal debates surrounding blockchain accountability.

**Desirable**:

- Prior publications or policy work in crypto law, digital property, or fintech regulation.
- Engagement with academic or governmental bodies involved in blockchain or financial technology law.
- Understanding of comparative legal frameworks for decentralisation (e.g., EU, US, or international approaches).
