**Job Description**:
**Job Title: DGM-Tendering & Proposal**

**Department**: Business Development, Tendering & Proposals (Domestic SBG)
**Location**: Chennai & **Position Type**: Full-time

**Job Summary**:
The **DGM Tendering & Proposal**will drive business growth and strategy for power transmission and distribution (T&D) projects in India and SAARC countries. This involves managing tendering, proposal development, and strategic planning within the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) sector. The role requires expertise in client relations, techno-commercial management, and in-depth knowledge of the T&D industry. The Head will lead a team to ensure the timely and successful submission of competitive proposals, contributing to profitable order inflow.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- ** Tendering & Proposal strategy**:

- Identify business opportunities in areas like Green Energy Power Evacuation, Green Hydrogen Transmission, HVDC systems, Metro Railways, and SCADA automation.
- Develop and implement strategies to meet profitable order targets for T&D projects.
- Create competitive bidding strategies, balancing cost, risk, and quality.
- Collaborate with leadership and technical teams to plan approaches for tenders.
- Lead contract negotiations with clients to secure favorable terms and convert bids into project awards.
- Well versed in the tendering and proposals process in EPC Business.
- Ability to make decisions to participate in the qualitative and competitive tenders.
- Stay updated on market trends, competitors, and technological innovations in T&D.
- Provide strategic insights to senior leadership to enhance competitiveness.
- Identify and mitigate risks at the pre-tender stage, including technical, financial, and regulatory risks.
- Work with customers to modify tender clauses to benefit the business.
- Keep the team updated on competitor strategies and market threats.

**5. Team Leadership & Coordination**:

- Lead and mentor the Tendering & Proposal Strategy team.
- Assign tasks and track progress to ensure the effective execution of strategies.
- Coordination with Tendering & Proposal Head and Segment Heads to understand the issues affecting the business and raise sticky problems with customers for faster resolution.
- Prepare for upcoming tenders by improving project qualifications and technical parameters.

**6. Client & Stakeholder Engagement**:

- Serve as the primary contact for clients before and during the tender process.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders like Government agencies like Ministry of Power (MoP), Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (REC), Power Finance Corporation (PFC), State level discoms as well as private clients as well as subcontractors, suppliers, and other regulatory bodies in the power transmission and distribution sector.
- Close contact with policy makers like CEA & Niti Ayog to understand the Govt policy in the energy sector in the upcoming 5 years.
- Close engagement with multi-lateral development banks like World Bank, Asian Development Bank etc. to understand the funding scenario in many Govt. upcoming projects.
- Participate in client meetings and make presentations to Chairman, MDs, CMDs to discuss proposal details, negotiate terms, and clarify technical aspects.

**7. Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization**:

- Enhance business development processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Use tools and templates to streamline proposal creation and collaboration.
- Conduct post-tender reviews and incorporate feedback for future improvements.

**Key Skills & Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
- MBA or Master’s degree in Project Management/Business Development (preferred).

**Experience**:

- 20+ years in the T&D EPC industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in successful tender submissions for large-scale projects.

**Technical Skills**:

- Knowledge of T&D systems and EPC processes.
- Proficiency in bid management software and MS Office,

**Soft Skills**:

- Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
- Analytical thinking and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Contract negotiation and risk management expertise.
