Monitoring Tool Administrator

This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2-3 days per week from an HPE office.

**Job Description for Monitoring Tools Administrator**

**Job level: INT**

**Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to**:

- Configure the devices within the monitoring tool [threshold setup, Polling frequency defined, alert criticality]
- Event management
- Escalate the incidents based on the standard procedure and run-down follow-up reporting per team and area, Escalate incidents till closure
- Prepare and maintain Documentation, Reports, and provide follow on the status of identified tasks.
- Uses technical writing skills to create and maintain Knowledge Base articles
- Coordinates across teams, collaborating closely with peers to ensure the appropriate focus and sense of urgency is applied to all issues.
- Perform daily health checks (Network, Servers & Applications).
- Handle incident, change, request, problem tickets within the defined SLA
- Manage Escalations
- Drive improvements across the domains related to multiple tools
- Must be aware of certain task like Alert suppression, pulling the report with threshold data, commission & decommission a CI in tool; no alerts received etc.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Minimum 2 to 4 years’ experience administering multiple monitoring systems such as SolarWinds, NagiosXI, OpsRamp, Sitescope, NNMI etc
- Aware of various use case scenarios wrt issues/challenges on the said monitoring tools
- Aware of the constrains and limitation wrt said monitoring tools
- Knowledge of Windows, Linux, Database & Network Infrastructure
- Experience integrating new devices into complex Enterprise Monitoring frameworks
- Deep knowledge and experience with the SNMP communication protocol, MIB integration and trap analysis.
- Knowledge of IT Service Management processes and tools
- Ability to work in different shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays to support a 24X7X365 environment.
- Shows initiative and has a strong desire to share knowledge with others
- Fluent in English language, spoken and written
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills
- Ability to build trusted relationships across IT
- Analytical approach
- Experience in Enterprise datacenter products and environment. Additional Technical skills is an added advantage.

**Certifications**:

- ITIL Certified
- Any tool specific certification would be an added advantage
