**APJ Sustainability Principal**
**Key Responsibilities & Tasks**
SAP is creating a new Sustainability team to help our customers navigate and prosper in a world that faces the existential threat of Climate Change. SAP’s vision is to enable customers to successfully transform their businesses into intelligent, sustainable enterprises. Collaborating closely with our customers and partners, we help to optimize their material, financial, and energy flows throughout end-to-end business processes to address planetary challenges. SAP’s strategy is to leverage SAP’s strengths to help our customers improve their Triple Bottom Lines. As such the APJ Sustainability Principal is a key position to help us successfully realize this vision and strategy.
The Sustainability Principal combines deep knowledge of sustainability, the ability to lead consultive customer engagements, and a broad understanding of underlying SAP solutions, business processes, and Industry value chains, to drive actionable projects that improve the outcomes of Profit/ the Planet/ People. Regulatory requirements are heterogeneous and changing, knowledge of these Regulatory, Standard Providers, and agreements are also essential.
**FOCUS: LEADING SUSTAINABILITY PORTFOLIO & SUSTAINABILITY AS DIFFERENTIATOR**
This is a highly visible and senior role within APJ Sustainability SWAT team, and there are two key responsibilities:
- Sustainability SME & Advisory Role: Lead and orchestrate Sustainability engagements across selected target accounts
- Strategically engages and develops selected and identified high touch accounts and must win deals in the region
- Plays the role of a Strategic advisor to key decision makers including CSOs and actively evangelize SAP’s sustainability portfolio
- Lead and/or support high impact consultative value-based engagements in PURPOSE and help build long term vision and roadmap around Sustainability
- Closely align and mentor wider VAT teams on running high impact sustainability engagements including customer-facing value, pre-sales, services, partners etc.
- Sustainability GTM planning and Business Development Role
- Drive Sustainability GTM planning, Sales Play development and roll out
- Drives key Revenue and Adoption KPIs like # of engagements, revenue & pipeline targets, # of reference customers, # market makers, etc.
- Build and accelerate high quality pipeline of Sustainability engagements around the leading portfolio of Sustainability Solutions
- Plan and execute high impact 1:1, 1: Few, 1:Many DG campaigns, collaborating with Marketing, Partners, ICA and Services organizations
- Drives alignment with LOBs on solution and industry specific E2E messaging
- Participates in best practice sharing with other Regional Sustainability Principals
**Reporting**:
This APJ role reports to the Global Head of Sustainability.
**Qualifications**:
- Sustainability expertise in a must to be a trusted partner of our customers' Chief Sustainability Officers and other LOBs focused on emissions, waste, equality and holistic steering and reporting.
- Industry Expertise
- Master’s Degree
- 15 years of experience engaging with customers and organizations around sustainability this topic
- Ability to collaborate, drive teamwork
**Required Skills**:
- Deep understanding and knowledge of Sustainability and SAP customers challenges across industries as it relates to sustainability
- Knowledge of SAP sustainability portfolio, positioning, and a passion for the topic
- Experience leading and executing cross-team programs and/or events (including executive, employee, customer, partner stakeholders)
- Proven ability to turn strategies into actionable plans, leveraging a matrixed organization to support the change
- Ability to mentor and manage team members to ensure driving to common purposes and goals
- Recognize and address any challenges/issues timely, meeting and/or exceeding expectations and managing risks
- Strong execution capabilities with a can-do attitude: Personal conviction and energy
- Collaborative and inspiring leadership style with peers, teams, colleagues, customers
