**Generate leads.** Inside sales executives research and identify potential customers using a variety of sources such as online searches, social media or referrals.
- **Qualify leads.** They determine which leads are most likely to become customers by evaluating their needs and budget and assessing interest in the products or services they sell.
- **Negotiate deals.** Inside sales executives work with customers to identify pricing and payment options that meet their requirements and align with company goals.
- **Close sales.** They close sales agreements with customers, provide customer support as required and follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- **Manage sales pipeline.** Managing a sales pipeline involves monitoring sales activities and customer interactions, updating sales records and customer information in a customer relationship management (CRM) system and providing regular reports on sales activities and results.
- **Collaborate with team members.** Working closely with marketing and other professionals helps executives in sales develop and implement strategies and achieve their targets consistently.
- **Stay up-to-date with product knowledge.** Staying up-to-date about products and services involves being familiar with their key features, benefits and competitors to inform potential customers.
