
Restaurant Captain

As a Restaurant Captain, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the front-of-house staff to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. You will work closely with the restaurant manager to maintain a well-organized and efficient dining experience.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Customer Service**:Greet and welcome guests, ensuring they have a positive first impression.
Attend to customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints promptly.
Maintain a high level of customer service throughout the dining experience.
**Staff Supervision**:Assign tasks and responsibilities to waitstaff and support staff.
Ensure that all front-of-house staff are well-trained and provide excellent service.
Monitor staff performance and provide feedback for improvement.
**Table Management**:Oversee the seating of guests and ensure efficient table turnover.
Maintain a reservation system and manage table reservations.
Ensure that tables are set up correctly and that the dining area is clean and well-maintained.
**Order Management**:Take orders from guests and communicate them accurately to the kitchen.
Ensure that food and beverages are served in a timely and organized manner.
Monitor the quality and presentation of dishes before they are served to guests.
**Upselling and Menu Knowledge**:Familiarize yourself with the menu and be able to provide recommendations to guests.
Encourage upselling of menu items, such as specials or beverages.
Ensure that staff are knowledgeable about the menu and can answer guest questions.
**Billing and Payments**:Handle guest bills and payments accurately.
Process payments through various methods, such as cash, credit cards, or digital payment systems.
Provide receipts and ensure guests are satisfied with their dining experience.
**Training and Development**:Train new staff members on restaurant policies, procedures, and customer service standards.
Conduct regular meetings or training sessions to keep the staff informed and motivated.
**Health and Safety Compliance**:Ensure that the restaurant adheres to health and safety regulations and sanitation standards.
Take appropriate action in case of emergencies or safety concerns.
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience in a similar role in the restaurant industry.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service techniques.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve conflicts.
- Familiarity with restaurant POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- A professional appearance and demeanor.
**Optional Qualifications**:
- Certification in Food Safety and Hygiene.
- Training in customer service or hospitality management.
A Restaurant Captain is a key figure in maintaining the reputation and success of a restaurant by ensuring that guests have a memorable dining experience through exceptional service and efficient management.
**Salary**: ₹12,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
